Announcements

The year 2021 was a productive and exciting one for Housing Tools. One of our favorite aspects of this work is collaborating with all of you. We look forward to another year working with you to improve our communities and build affordable housing. Below is a brief summary of some highlights for the past year.

Community Development

Developed five different Housing Elements, for the Cities of Biggs, Chico, Orland, Oroville, and Willows, which included 10 virtual community meetings, 5 in-person outreach events, and surveys with 1,409 respondents.

Prepared the Butte County Public Health Department’s Medical Respite Plan for people experiencing homelessness in Butte County, California.

Helped secure $8.66 million in NPLH funds for a Permanent Supportive Housing Project in Siskiyou County, developed by Rural Communities Housing Development Corporation (RCHDC).

Helped Amador, Glenn and Lassen Counties prepare to apply for NPLH funds.

Assisted three different counties with applying for and administering PLHA funds.

Helped the Butte Countywide Homeless Continuum of Care apply for $760,082 in HUD funds.

Housing Development

Administered RFPs for Butte County and the City of Chico to allocate a combined $90 million in CDBG-DR funds for the development of 900 units to replace dwellings lost to the 2018 Camp Fire.

Prepared 11 funding applications for a combined $205 million to assist 875 housing units, including AHSC, MHP, TCAC/CDLAC, IIG, and AHP.

Provided labor compliance monitoring services for six projects.

Developed and administered an RFP for Plumas County Community Development Commission to project-base 100 Section 8 vouchers for housing in Tehama County.
